Trastevere is located south of Vatican City and it is one of the preferred areas by tourists when it comes to deciding where to stay in Rome.
It is a very sophisticated neighborhood which offers a wide variety of cafes, boutiques and local restaurants. By night, it becomes ‘Bohemian’, with poets and street artists which fill its avenues and squares.
It used to be defined as the most Roman of all the districts, but not many real Romans live here any longer. Parking in this area is almost impossible to find, due to the intense traffic and crowds of people that populate this area. However, the public transport is good, which will allow you to reach most of the areas around the city.
